Deep cycle batteries are manufactured in various types and many sizes. Good deep cycle batteries provide more substantial construction, thicker plates and more robust plate separators to allow for high deep of discharge and regular recharging all of which put extra stress on plates and internal connections.
The common types are Flooded, AGM (absorbed glass mat) and Gel. Each have their own unique benefits varying from cost to performance depending on the application required.
